Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan

Also known as Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan

I will just call this anime BTD, ok? So BTD is a 4 episodes long OVA. It is a comedy piece about Sakura Kusakabe, a junior high school student, who happen to live together with an angel, named Dokuro-chan.

Here are those two, Sakura and Dokuro

And the whole point of the story is making fun of Sakura and constantly killing him. Yeah, that is right. Each episode Dokuro kills him multiple times and then resurrects him. That is a running gag of the series. There are some more subtle lines in it too, that actually make the show enjoyable, but I don't want to give away the whole plot just to explain it, so you will have to watch it yourself to see whether or notI am telling the truth and the show is indeed enjoyable.

There is a lot of blood in this show, so be careful. Also there are intestines and brain bits flying around. I mean, don't show this anime to your kid sibling.

I feel that this anime has a lot of potential to piss people off. Mostly, because the humor is quite sadistic, and a lot of people, including myself, don't appreciate this type of stuff. But also, because there is a love triangle going on and Sakura more or less makes up his mind by the end, which may make fans of the alternative pairing not very happy. And third, I heard there are still some people like me who don't like panty-shots in anime, and here are some of those shots in this OVA.

But with all that said, I still think the anime is quite good. If it was longer than 4 episodes, it might have gotten bad, but as it is, there is just no time.

Can you believe how kawaii violent she is?

Now to some details. The MUSIC is ok, but not impressive. OPENING, on the other hand, has a very catchy song, I like how it sounds.ANIMATION for the series is alright, but not too fancy. Also, maybe it was just my copy, but the quality of the animation was going up and down during the episodes, it was kind of weird. Art style is nice, nothing too impressive, though, same with character designs. One big major point for this show is English dub. Wendee Lee (voice of Konata from Lucky Star, Haruhi from The Melancholy, Faye from Cowboy Bebop), Yong Bosch (voice of Ichigo from Bleach, Lelouch from Code Geass and tons of other characters), they know how to do voice-over. Their acting makes the anime so much better.

If I don't put a picture of Shizuki in this post, people will get mad at me. And rightly so.

So, if you want some piece of comedy, check out this anime. If you have already seen it, there is a sequel. And for now, till the next time, see you (^^)/
